All of our Missouri Select Soccer League games are played at Hershewe Sports Complex in Joplin, MO.
Yes, it does cost to play. There is a $25 monthly fee that goes to World Class Sports to help cover the operating costs of our training facility. Then there are uniform and league fees that may vary depending on if you already have an Iguanas uniform and what the cost is for each team for the league. Please do not let the fees deter you from signing up your child. Just talk to the coaches and we can help you work something out. We do not want a child to not have a chance to play because of money.
Practices times can vary depending on what team your child is on. Your coach will determine your practice days and times. Communicate with your coach if you have an event that conflicts with your practice time.
Practice location may vary. When it is cold or raining we will use the World Class Sports indoor facility. When the weather is favorable we try to practice outside. Your coach will let you know the location of practice.
All players will need shin guards to play. Please wear them to practice to help prevent injuries. Cleats are not required but are highly recommended for games. For the indoor facitlity tennis shoes or indoor soccer shoes are fine. For games, jerseys, shorts, and socks will be provided with the uniform fee.
Teams are split by age. The ages for our league are U8, U10, U12, U13, and U15. Which teams we have will depend on the ages and number of players that sign up. Players may play up an age group, but not down. If we have enough players for a certain age group we may make multiple teams for that age group.
Your coach will be determined by what team you are on. You cannot request a coach as the coach you request may not be coaching your players age group.
Players are not guaranteed equal playing time. Everyone will get into the games as long as there is not a discipline issue, but minutes may vary based on the player's skill, or how we match up against our opponent. Our goal is to put players in situations where they can find success, and putting them in game situations where they may struggle can damage their confidence and development.
